Rome,
April 2000
I
just finished my first serious attempt with the use of the coloured oil:
I must state that it has been very difficult for me, infact I needed
about six months to realize "The boy with a fruit can" of
Michelangelo Merisi, said Caravaggio (I hope it shall meet your
acceptance); but I made use of the "Van Gogh colors", mixable
in water, and they didn't like me. For the next painting, Beatrice Cenci
of Guido Reni, I'll make use of some more "usual" oil colors.
